Middleham
House is an 18th century stone built property situated in the centre of
the picturesque village of Carlton in Coverdale in the heart of the
Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a stream running alongside the
house and stunning panoramic views of Coverdale to the rear.
We are open all year round,
and there is a superb pub and restaurant just a 1 minute walk away!
Carlton is situated between
the market towns of Leyburn (5 miles) and Hawes (10 miles) in the heart
of James Herriot country. The area is popular for walking, fishing,
cycling and other country pursuits. There are many attractions nearby
including the mysterious gardens at The Forbidden Corner, the renowned
Aysgarth Falls and the historic town of Middleham.
All rooms are newly refurbished
and offer an excellent standard of accommodation. There are twin and
double rooms available all with en-suites, LCD televisions and tea/coffee
making facilities and a residents sitting room to ensure a comfortable
stay. We offer an extensive breakfast menu including a full English
breakfast made from local produce which is guaranteed to satisfy the
largest of appetites. Packed lunches and special dietary requirements can
be catered for by arrangement. Drying facilities are available, and we are
able cater for small groups.
