Middleham House Bed and Breakfast

Middleham House is an 19th century stone built property situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Carlton in Coverdale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a stream running alongside the house and stunning panoramic views of Coverdale to the rear.

We are open all year round, and there is a selection of pubs and restaurants nearby, including our community owned local pub, serving very good food, just 50 metres from Middleham House.

Carlton is situated between the market towns of Leyburn (5 miles) and Hawes (10 miles) in the heart of James Herriot country. The area is popular for walking, fishing, cycling and other country pursuits. There are many attractions nearby including the mysterious gardens at The Forbidden Corner, the renowned Aysgarth Falls and the historic town of Middleham.

All rooms are newly refurbished and offer an excellent standard of accommodation. There are twin and double rooms available all with en-suites, LCD televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. We offer an extensive breakfast menu including a full English breakfast made from local produce which is guaranteed to satisfy the largest of appetites. Packed lunches and special dietary requirements can be catered for by arrangement. Drying facilities are available, and we are able cater for small groups. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
